No "Real" WE

Post by Pancakes12 » Tue Jul 30, 2013 12:41 pm

Hello TLS community,
I've been curious if my lack of "real world" WE will hurt my admissions cycle. I have lots of work experience within my university (math tutor, resident assistant, research assistant, teaching assistant), but have been unable to obtain even an internship with an outside company despite being a Math/Econ major. Will schools look down upon my appearance of being sheltered in the university, hurting my admissions/scholarship chances?
If it helps, I have a GPA and LSAT at or above the 75th percentile for HYS.

If you have a 176+ and a 3.98+ (Yale 75%), then I'm not sure what you're worrying about

WE is whatever you sell it as. If your resume, PS, etc. makes it look like bullshit, then it's probably bullshit. If it makes it look impactful and meaningful, then that is obviously better.

And you're clearly not being paranoid enough.

This experience will be looked at favorably, particularly given your LSAT/GPA.
