3.49 vs. 3.5
I am taking summer classes (a full load) which will bump my GPA up to 3.49 (currently at 3.46) by August, in time to send in applications this fall.
I have a 170 and planning to ED Penn.
So here's my dilemma. I could take one more summer class (which would be a very very full summer load, but it would get my GPA up to 3.5.
Is a 3.5 any significant advantage in admissions decisions over a 3.49? I just think the 3.5 looks much better on paper. So would it be worth my effort to take this extra class?
Thanks

Re: 3.49 vs. 3.5
I think you have a shot ED Penn with 3.49-3.5/170. No, that point will not make a huge difference, since as was mentioned, your below medians either way.
171 would be nice. I second the retake > extra class investment, unless you can take a bunch of credits and get to 3.55 or something.

I had a 3.49 LSAC GPA and got no money from NYU, while people at 3.5+ with similar LSAT scores got 50K. Doubt it makes any difference for Penn ED though.
