3.89 (uGPA) vs. ~3.94 (LSAC GPA) Forum

My undergrad institution (t20 private) issues A+s but doesn't figure them into our GPA as 4.33. (In other words, an A+= A in terms of GPA) However, under LSACs GPA system, my 20 or so units of A+ are figured in and my GPA is significantly higher.

Which GPA is more important? And do I have the choice of reporting the higher LSAC GPA on my applications? Which GPA do the law schools get?

After all, I wouldn't want there to be any unnecessary discrepancies.

Law schools use the LSAC GPA for admission. This means your LSAC GPA is more important.

I understand that LSAC is responsible for the the whole transcript conversion process and sends my GPA to the law schools I apply to. Does this mean that the law schools won't even come across my lower undergrad GPA? Not trying to be disingenuous; just curious.

No problem. Resume will likely list your college GPA. They will see it. It shouldn't impact you one way or another.

Schools only care about LSAC GPA because that's what they report to USNWR
