thanks for the feedback. i should have just put a poll up too. other t20 acceptances, but no other t14 (on a few other t14 wl, too). i declined my other acceptances this cycle (for better or worse), so i am all in on all of the wl i am on.

do you think my odds are worse if i reapply next cycle than they were this cycle?

If nothing changes on your application, I wouldn't expect the outcome to change. The schools keep records of applicants, and they don't want to see someone who did nothing different between their two applications get in.

i know the hard numbers are the best thing to change, but do you think a slight soft factor bump will work? i will be promoted at work by then and I am editing a book as a part-time job - i will receive recognition in print for my work on the book. given that i am on pwl for gtown, do you guys think that will have any impact or will it ammount to nothing?

Could it? Yes. But neither of those jumps out at me as something huge. Will the promotion be significant, or will it just be a lockstep-like promotion?

I wouldn't expect the book to make much of a difference - you'd be shocked at the number of students out there now who have edited a chapter of a professor's book and ended up on the acknowledgements/title page.

i found a couple of old posts about taking the lsat a fourth time. since i took the feb, june, and oct 2012 lsat, i should be able to take the feb 2014 test, right?

if so, does anyone think it might be wise to reapply ed to gtown this fall, start preparing for the feb lsat, and see what happens with my app (i.e. register and be ready to take the feb 2014 lsat if i am waitlisted again)?

Take the October 2013 LSAT. The LSAT year runs June-February, not February-December. The February LSAT last year counted as part of the 2011 cycle, so as of the June 2013 LSAT you will have only taken two LSATs within the two year (2012 and 2013) period.

just spoke with lsac - the soonest i can retake the lsat is feb 2014 since the two year period hinges on the day i took the test.

on a related note, if a higher lsat would make me competitive at other schools, would it be pointless to apply early and ask them to wait on my feb lsat score before considering me?

Unfortunately a higher LSAT in February won't make you very competitive at other schools unless you're applying the following cycle.

There's always the year after. Get in some super-solid work experience and improve your candidacy. You're only going to go to law school once!

I think given the circumstances, maybe itd be best if you waited until the June 2014 LSAT (since there's no benefit in taking it in February over June) and just spend any free time you can working on improving that, while giving yourself more time to improve your job position, which may help in the softs category, or at least give you a better position to be getting a job in DC should you get in. Or maybe at that point you'd rather just work your way up that career path.

good point. but, i don't see any harm in preparing for the feb 2014 and being open to cancelling and taking the june 2014 if i don't feel ready, do you?

No, not at all. I just figured since you've already taken it multiple times, you might want to give yourself as much time as possible to prepare, especially since you will be working (presumably full-time?) in the interim.

accepted elsewhere, but i want to go pt in dc and gtown is the only one with the joint degree i am looking for.

if i don't get off the wl this cycle, what do you think my chances are if i re-work my application and apply in early sept?

The latest PT medians are 3.59/167: http://www.law.georgetown.edu/admission ... Report.pdf So I'm surprised you didn't get in. Keep bugging them with emails showing your interest. There's still plenty of time to get off the WL.
