Dr. Dre has a question

Post by Dr. Dre » Tue May 14, 2013 1:39 am

I took one class twice. It was a ONE unit class. I got A's both times I took it. The reason I took it the second time is because the class material allegedly changed over the year. (And it did—somewhat). Anyways, my UG did not count it toward my UGPA.

I want to know if LSAC will count it toward my GPA.

If both are on your transcript, LSAC will count both, regardless of whether your UG counts it towards your GPA.

Ok cool. Because I added all of the units/letter grades to the LSAC GPA calculator and if LSAC gives me credit for that class, it will boost my GPA 0.01. Which, surprisingly, does a lot for it.

Does it take it from 3.69 to 3.7?

I did a similar thing thing. They count both. But depending on your UG it may affect your class credits. When I repeated the class it did not count towards graduation so just be mindful of that.

Dre, you should be ecstatic at this opportunity to attend such a prestigious institution. Uci will make all your dreams come true AND you get to live in the most financially robust state in the union. Win-win.
Best of all, your competition for jobs is next to nothing, so LA big law should fall into your lap, and an easy lateral to a cushy in-house position is quite likely for a qualified, intellectual such as yourself.

There, did that answer your question Mr. Dr. Dre?

I shouldn't have doubled majored in bio and poly sci for two years because I couldn't decide between pharm school and law school. Fuck O chem and labs. Should have just majored in music and partied for four years for a 4.0.

That's looking like the better option right now. I probably would have and honestly, pharm is pretty easy to get in. Especially in CA. You don't even have to take the PCAT. All you need is a low 3 point something GPA and put in some hours. However, I've heard that the field is pretty saturated. It's not as saturated as law though, which in conclusion, makes it the superior option when it comes to employment.

With that said, I decided to roll the die and go with a career that I will hate less. If I end up a successful attorney, it would have been the best decision I ever made. If I bomb it, then it'd be the worst decision. Only time will tell.
