Will my Senioritis Quarter Hurt Me?

Post by jtabustos » Thu May 09, 2013 12:04 pm

I have a decent GPA and have a mostly even grades record, but dropped precipitously during my very very last quarter (attended a UC school - not Berkeley - on the quarter system) of UG, due to senioritis.

Honestly, I think it was probably more burn-out than anything. I'm not so sure it was purely seniorities, although that factored into a little. I did simply want to have fun knowing it was my last time in college. I handed in assignents late, procrastinated (while doing more social activities), and put in less work overall.

But when I said my last quarter was bad, I mean really bad. It doesn't reflect in my overall GPA so much, but if you actually look at my transcripts you'll see typical quarter grades of:

A
A-
A-
B+

Whereas my last quarter was essentially close to:

C
D
C
Incomplete
B-

:?

Would an adcom ding me for something like that (GPA b/n 3.3-3.6, btw....sorry for not wanting to be too specific)?

It'll hurt. How much? I don't know - it'll mean something different if you had a 3.3, as opposed to a 3.6.

It will hurt because your total GPA is lower. But that's the only reason.

I'm in the same boat bro. Bad senioritis. Really wish I could go back and put in just a little more effort. I already got accepted so I'm curious as to if anything will happen. I doubt it though. But I have no clue.

What's done is done. Focus on the one thing you CAN control at this point: the LSAT.
