Re: Will one pass/fail grade on my transcript affect my chances?
Fuck no. Take the pass fail. There is a huge difference between 3.8 and 3.9.

It won't affect your GPA, but to adcoms it will look like you got a C in the class... so not sure how you feel about that

Not only did I do this, I literally did it in "American Legal Process." (Professor was known to be a tough grader and I assumed I would learn plenty about American Legal Process once in law school.) I sincerely don't think anyone cared about it.

Sorry if my sense of humor totally missed a joke or sarcasm here, but really? A "pass" in a sea of A's will not look like a C lolManOfTheMinute wrote:It won't affect your GPA, but to adcoms it will look like you got a C in the class... so not sure how you feel about that

Sad but true. What I wouldn't do to have not made the same mistake you're considering making.Mal Reynolds wrote:Fuck no. Take the pass fail. There is a huge difference between 3.8 and 3.9.

It was either a joke or completely wrong. Probably a joke.weathercoins wrote:Sorry if my sense of humor totally missed a joke or sarcasm here, but really? Take that GPA and go to med school instead.john09121 wrote:I'm studying abroad and have the option of taking a B+ on a course or a pass out of pass/fail. Taking the B+ might drop me down from a 3.9 to 3.8 GPA. I've never taken pass/fail courses before (save for the 1 credit labs on my science courses, which can only be taken as pass fail).
OR I could drop this course, and work my butt off on replacing the credits with a book exam (and thereby ruin my study abroad experience).
I really just want to take the "pass." Worrying about this is really destroying my health. Will it hurt me?
