Glimmer of Hope?LSAC will NOT compute GPA of schools you owe
Oh happy day...I think.
I called LSAC and they told me that if I owe an institution money and they refuse to release a transcript, the law school will be informed that I owe them money and the scripts were not released, BUT THEY WILL NOT COMPUTE.
Excellent. Better a note saying I'm kind of a deadbeat than one saying my gpa is low. I can do the woe is me song and dance, I can't afford to pay the big bad college.

do you think a reputable LS will accept you if you are not in good standing with other educational institutions?

Well I just spoke with the admissions office. I was told that on a financial level it will not affect me, but not having a full and clear picture of my academic performance might affect me slightly. Also she told me that my10 years of work experience might well mitigate that.Big Dog wrote:do you think a reputable LS will accept you if you are not in good standing with other educational institutions?

no reputable school will accept a deadbeat.
Have you also defaulted on student loans?

A bad student and a deadbeat? Schools will be all over such a promising applicant.

Umm, I think, you misunderstood this, if the LSAC does not compute your gpa, you wont even be allowed to send the CRS reports. You must have a transcript from each institution you attended in order for your CRS to be sent with your application.LateBloomer81 wrote:Oh happy day...I think.

You've mentioned previously having a good career. Why on earth do you want to go to law school? Even if a school does accept you with your GPA and uh.. Outstanding student balance it won't be to any school that will make giving up a good career for make any sense.

btw: if you are in default on current loans, you won't be able to get any more loans. Thus, you won't be able to borrow to attend LS.

He didn't say he was in default on his loans, he likely still has a balance on his university's bursar.

If you actually get into a law school, pay off that school before C&F. Should clear the C&F problem.
