Is April too Late to Ask for LORs
Basically, I don't want to drive to school/pay for parking unless I need to. I have to go sometime during April anyways to pick up graduation stuff, so can I wait until the week before to request professors to write me a LOR, then meet up with them on the chosen day to give them the form? Or is this way too late and I should have done it....like, now?
Thanks.
Thanks.

For next cycle, it's perfectly fine.
For this cycle it's too late for any worthwhile school

You can even just call them tomorrow and ask, then email them the form if they say yes. No parking fee required.

But it's better to ask in person, and April is very early to be asking for LoRs, so might as well wait until you go there anyway.Micdiddy wrote:You can even just call them tomorrow and ask, then email them the form if they say yes. No parking fee required.

Unless you really made an impression you should go in so the professor may remember who you are.Micdiddy wrote:You can even just call them tomorrow and ask, then email them the form if they say yes. No parking fee required.

I'd definitely prefer to go in and talk to the professor in person. Regarding the actual timing of the request, however, I would make sure to give the recommender at least a month prior to the date I want it completed/picked-up - you'd be surprised how long people lag getting these letters done.
Also, be sure to send reminders periodically.
