Well, it's certainly not good. How bad it is depends largely on what your numbers are and what schools you're applying to. So, what are your numbers and what schools are you applying to?

Got me dinged at a school I should have been safe at (Cornell, 3.4/170, lived 40 minutes away and was a yield lock). Applied literally 5min before the deadline. Thank goodness for small miracles lol.

Well, more like 50% admit 40% WL, tbf. I can't imagine I would have been straight dinged if I applied earlier.

That I didn't end up going to Cornell. Maybe I misused the expression (is it "blessings"?). I meant thank goodness I didn't pay a ton of money to go to Cornell, not that it was remarkable that I didn't get in.

I'm still not seeing the "safe." I don't think your late app made too much of a difference.
