Out of the 1k people who get a 170+ every year
Why does it seem that each one of those people have a TLS account? The amount of people who have 170+ on here is insane.
Hopefully I can join club 170+.

Primarily because those of us who are dedicated enough to get 170+ are also dedicated enough to do the research... and end up here. Conversely, those who don't do research and don't find TLS also don't take the LSAT seriously.itachiuchiha wrote:Why does it seem that each one of those people have a TLS account? To be fair, though, I think there were 2,000 people who got 170+ this year.

Also this forum probably has inflated the number of people that get 170s by giving them better tools to achieve it, as I'm pretty sure it did for me.

if it's true that only around 2000 people get 170+ every year...how many 170+ applicants do you estimate there to be to T14 schools in a given cycle? 2000? 3000? 4000?

Well it is way more than 1,000.
2010 was 4500+
2011 was 4000+
I can't find a 2012 that isn't a projection (projected was ~3300)
I used the graphs in this post : http://lsatblog.blogspot.com/2012/04/ad ... asier.html
which was based off he LSAC data.

thank you so much for linking this. i found it very interesting, although ultimately pointless since they couldnt account for almost half of 170+ scorers.doing_it_in_a_car wrote:This was a really helpful analysis of 170 scorers that was unfortunately buried:

It's because posting on TLS adds 3-6 points to your LSAT score.

Actually I think there may some objective truth to that. The guides here are good at increasing LSAT scores and encouraging people in increase their LSAT scores.ph14 wrote:It's because posting on TLS adds 3-6 points to your LSAT score.
Similarly, reading TLS will aid you in the applications process. And submitting your scores to LSN more than doubles your chances of admission to some schools.
Either that or these people are bullshitting us to make themselves feel better.

It certainly helps--w/r/t to motivation, etc.--to be "involved" in a community that shares many of the same values and goals as you, particularly when it comes to LSAT prep and the value of it.ph14 wrote:It's because posting on TLS adds 3-6 points to your LSAT score.

i read this yesterday. both threads reached a very similar conclusion. 2000-2500 people with 170+ end up in T14, the other 1500-1800 remain unaccounted for.wert3813 wrote:If you had just scrolled you would have found an updated one that if far less useless.
