Decision rendered, how to check on ASW?
Just got update on GWU decision being made. Where do I go to on the admitted students website to log in? There seems to be a number of things I could try and log in to...

have you been accepted, or did your status change to "decision made" (or whatever the wording is)Mr. Frodo wrote:Just got update on GWU decision being made. Where do I go to on the admitted students website to log in? There seems to be a number of things I could try and log in to...

If you've been accepted, you'll probably get a few emails or letters in the next two weeks giving you all the details you need.

So you're trying to log in to something to see if you're admitted?

Re: Decision rendered, how to check on ASW?
This is my first real status update. I only applied to GW like 4 days ago and a decision has been made already. I'm at LSAT median and way above 75% GPA median. Did they likely make a decision quickly because its an acceptance or is there no correlation between speed and decision making (I thought I read there was).
I also thought that when status checkers said decision made or decision mailed that you could generally try to log on to that schools ASW website to see if you could get on.... is this not correct?

from what I've learned from admissions staff, if your numbers are really high, they'll look at your app sooner rather than later (you go to the top of the pile, so to speak). Decisions are made as and when apps are reviewed, which consist of Admit, Deny, Waitlist, back to the pile. Considering that strong numbers make their way to the top of the pile faster, the earliest decisions tend to be admits, with plenty of dings in between (horrible numbers that are being processed more than reviewed)Mr. Frodo wrote:This is my first real status update. this varies by school At my school, for example, upon being admitted they send you the generic password/username that they send to all students, so if you don't have the password you can't get in. Another school I was considering had a password/username based on your personal data (e.g. date of birth). You were only capable of accessing it once you were accepted, so a common method of checking was for people to try to log in - if you got in you were accepted.Mr. Frodo wrote:I also thought that when status checkers said decision made or decision mailed that you could generally try to log on to that schools ASW website to see if you could get on.... is this not correct?
