Name Change

Post by TripTrip » Sun Jan 06, 2013 10:58 pm

Has anyone changed their last name while their application is still under review? Anything I'm not thinking of before I change it?

What? It's family, and it's personal.

I'm not looking for name ideas. I just want to know if there's any special way I have to report my change of name, or if it's just LSAC and email the admissions depts of each school.

I suggest Max Power...

Max Power, he's the man, whose name you'd love to touch, but you mustn't touch. His name sounds good in your ear, but when you say it, you mustn't fear, cause his name can be said, by any one.

Actual answer: I imagine the schools sort you primarily via LSAC account number, so changing your name should be fine. I can't imagine a situation in which you couldn't just wait until after being admitted to change your name in a school's database and avoid the potential headache altogether, but if you're asking here I imagine you may have a valid reason and I'm not going to question it.
