Call from Director of Admissions? Forum

So I received a call from a school's Director of Admissions today, but I missed it. She left me a message with her name, title and phone number but no explanation!? What does this mean...? I have to wait until tomorrow, but could I possibly have been accepted only two weeks after applying? Or might there be some problem? My online status says nothing... just wanted your thoughts!

Some schools call people to let them know they've been admitted (although they'd usually leave a message)

You mean they'd leave a message saying I was accepted? It was so cryptic - no explanation, just saying she's the Director of the school calling and would like me to call back.

Could be a phone interview. Can't tell you much without knowing what school.

I'd bet you're in. They don't call to deny people. Lol

"Oh hi dean x."
"Yeah, so unfortunately we are denying your app to our school."
"Oh okay, well thank you for letting me know."
"You're welcome. Have a nice day."

Imagine how awkward that would be?

Oh gosh, that would be terrible lol.

Well, I just thought that's a little fast... I mean I think I have a solid application.. but still! But what other reason would a Director directly call me?

That would be nice haha... Since its after hours should I call and leave a message or just call in the morning? I just don't want to mess up anything by making the wrong move

DO NOT call now and leave a message. That would be the equivalent of drunk dialing. Wait until an hour or so after they open tomorrow and call then. Take several deep breaths before you pickup the phone.

Also, there's no problem with calling as soon as the law school opens. That's what you should do, actually.

Ah, that's fair. It's way too late, and studying for exams is melting my brain. It's definitely good to make sure you don't surrender all dignity when you call.
