Already admitted- traffic tickets- disclose?

Post by BlueJeanBaby » Thu Dec 27, 2012 11:21 am

Apparently I am hell on wheels and I got two speeding tickets over winter break. The first one was for going 54 in a 45 in South Carolina. It is 2 points on my license. The second one is for going 69 in a 55 in Georgia, but this one will not be any points because your first ticket in the state of GA does not go on your driving record. Should I let the school I am going to attend know about both of these? I already submitted an addendum that I am the apparent queen of speeding tickets. I'm assuming I need to tell them about both tickets, so could this somehow change my acceptance?

Random question for anyone who knows: how will I know if I am eligible to take a driving course for the SC ticket? How can I check and see how many points are on my license and make sure I am not in any danger of losing it?

Thanks!

54 in a 45, and you got two points?

did you even bother going to court? i've been pulled over many times in my youth for speeding, and i got away every time with a $340 (approx.) loss, and zero points.

I can't take off work to drive back to South Carolina to go to the court date :(. The fine is only $81 which isn't so bad in the grand scheme of traffic tickets. I'm more worried about how the law school will look at it.

Err on the side of disclosure. I recently sent a few emails to schools disclosing misdemeanor charges that had been dropped against me that I'd forgotten to include in the C&F section of my applications. All the schools, including a couple I'd already been admitted to, said it's no problem.
