Is it too close to Christmas to get an acceptance?
I have two applications still out (only one that I really still have an interest in), should I quit wasting my day on the status checker, and just assume that I won’t get an answer anytime soon?

They should cancel Christmas this year so we can still hope for status checker movements.

if they did that for this entering class, then they'd do it for all the rest... and scrooge and the grinch will be replaced by LSAC, and LSAC WILL HAVE STOLEN CHRISTMAS!

I got WLd by UChicago between Christmas and New Years last year. I think it's plausibleWhiteyCakes wrote:FTFYJamMasterJ wrote:Today or nothing tillnext FridayJanuary 3, IMO

Likely becasue of the way the calendar fell. There was an entire work-week between Christmas and New Years...not the case this yearJamMasterJ wrote:I got WLd by UChicago between Christmas and New Years last year. If you go by LSN, roughly half of the ED pool for Columbia is still waiting for a decision. They have until the New Year to get that all done.

I just got an acceptance today by e-mail and I'm waiting for a snail mail decision, so I would say that you could be admitted through the end of the week.
That said, I would ignore your status checker.

I didn’t hear anything yesterday (as expected). Therefore, it looks like I am stuck waiting. Meanwhile, I am starting to get more excited about one of the other schools I have already been accepted to. My top pick may have just lost my devotion due to the delay, and as for the second application that is still out, I am seriously considering withdrawing it. Would it benefit anyone (i.e. other applicants) if I withdraw now, or should I wait to at least hear their decision?

FWIW, I got an acceptance in the mail on Christmas Eve. Don't expect online status checker movement since no one's in the offices, but if there's a school that notifies by snail mail, it's conceivable that they could have dropped a batch in the mailbox on Thursday or Friday.

Thanks for the encouragement, but the school I am most interested in isn’t even showing that my application has been viewed yet. My status still shows “file complete” after over 20 days! Frankly, I don’t feel that this school values my interest too much.rinkrat19 wrote:FWIW, I got an acceptance in the mail on Christmas Eve. Does the school use any statuses (stati?) after 'complete'? Some schools go from complete to decision. Also, it's still very early. As admits start narrowing their choices and withdrawing, schools will send out more acceptances.Steve2207 wrote:Thanks for the encouragement, but the school I am most interested in isn’t even showing that my application has been viewed yet. It says that the file goes from complete, to under review on their site. http://indylaw.indiana.edu/admissions/status.htm
Either way I am not overly worried about it. I have two acceptances so far, which relieves my concerns.
