I had the same problem, except it was one class. I wrote a short addendum basically saying what you posted.

My undergraduate degree GPA was 4.0. However, due to two Ds at a community college straight out of high school, my LSAC GPA is 3.82. I have no excuse. I did badly because I was immature, and then I did better because I started to care.

Is this worth an addendum? Thanks in advance.

I just dropped it in my PS as evidence of an upward trend once I started giving a fuck.

Seriously? Because you have one of the top GPAs that a school could even ask for. Columbia's 2012 75th percentile was a 3.82. Writing something that says "I'm sorry for my terrible GPA" wouldn't make any sense at all.

IGF is right. Don't write one. Schools aren't going to look at your GPA negatively.

This is kind of like someone scoring in the high 160s writing a LSAT addendum about being a bad test taker. Theyre not.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I know 3.82 isn't bad. I'm just freaking out and want to give myself every advantage I can. But I definitely don't want to clutter up my apps with unnecessary addenda. So, again, thanks.
