Chicago Comparison... Help?!?
With comparable scholarships at all (making them do-able), what is my best bet between Kent, Loyola, and DePaul? Keeping in mind that I was a Biomed major and really want to pursue IP and hopefully stay in the Chicago area post graduation.
Muchos gracias for any advice.

This. These TTT schools cost a quarter million dollars and offer you, at best, LESS THAN A COIN FLIP'S chance at working as a lawyer. Look: Kent, Loyola, DePaul.InGoodFaith wrote:Retake, get 170+, apply to Northwestern, profit.
You'll also need a Ph. D. if you want to be competitive for biomedical patent jobs.

For biomed engineering i've been told a bachelor's is apporpriate?
I applied to Northwestern... just no reply yet so I'm not going to bank on it, haha. Also, they don't seem to have an IP specialization the way the other schools do.

Doesn't matter. It's superior to these schools in every way. Check lawschooltransparency.com for the breakdown.devshall wrote:For biomed engineering i've been told a bachelor's is apporpriate?

I am well aware Northwestern is in a much higher ranking, however I am really considering the three schools mentioned... so, again, anyone have any thoughts on those three??

Don't go to law school if you can't get into a good one (t14) or unless you get into a bad for free.devshall wrote:I am well aware Northwestern is in a much higher ranking, however I am really considering the three schools mentioned... so, again, anyone have any thoughts on those three??

You'd think I came on here and asked if I should go to Cooley or Nova at sticker price. (Not that bitter about TLS yet, I still have jokes!)
Anyway, the scholarships make these schools pretty close to free (minus cost of living). Loyola would be the most expensive, but not by much. I'm really just looking for more of a comparison on coursework and school atmosphere.
I know, it's not Harvard. I'm cool with that.

But going for free isn't that risky.

DF, I don't know if you know this, but Cooley has an expansive library made of rich mahogany. It is number 2 behind Harvard.
Kidding, again. But thanks, the reason I'm considering law school is because I've gotten pretty substantial scholarships. Out of the 3 (I know, I know, I might as well become a janitor rather than go to these schools! ha) which would you say has the most solid rep? I feel like I'm leaning more towards Loyola or Kent.
Stips are good academic standing. Nothing too scary.

I don't know if anyone here is going to be able to give you the info you need. You need to go to career services for both these schools and find out what placement is like for IP people. Placement at these schools is generally horrible and I wouldn't go if you want to be a lawyer - even for free - but it might be worth it depending on how IP Secure you are.

TCR is absolutely retake and do WUTSL at the very least, and only if for free. (which is fairly likely in WUSTL's case, since they give out tons of scholarship money.)
On topic, Loyola is marginally better than the other two. You won't get biomed IP with a bachelors.
