Do T-6 Schools Accept Transfers?

Post by scifiguy » Sun Dec 02, 2012 8:04 am

Could a person theoretically transfer into HYSCCN if their grades after 1L were good enough? lol.

All schools accept transfers. Where you transfer from matters. Someone else gave a detailed summary, but you've probably got to be top 15% in your class if you're in a T14, and at a T1, roughly speaking between top 5% to top 5 students, depending on the schools (e.g. UCLA->NYU might be a top 10% could work, while American->Yale isn't going to happen even if the top student) . Any lower than that, you've got no chance.

I forgot who wrote it but there's a very good thread about it somewhere on the board from someone who, I believe, did UCLA->Yale (not sure, I don't follow transfer threads)

Arrow's #'s are probably a bit generous. You'll probably need to be higher than what he says.

Also, don't go to a law school with the intent of transferring to another one. Grades are a tossup, even if you work insanely hard.
