Too late to apply? Computer died, lost everything.
Oh my god. My computer completely shat out, hard drive failed. Lost all data - personal statement, resumes, and other addendum.
Was planning on final touches and submitting everything yesterday. I now have to rewrite everything.. probably take me at least another 5 days.. I am hoping to have everything done by the 20th.
Do you think it is worth it even though it is so late? Waiting another year to apply would be devastating for me but will it help my chances out more or so i've heard... how much does it hurt to apply at the end of november?
Stats - 3.84 GPA, mexican-american female, 160 LSAT

I applied two years ago; didn't send my stuff in until around Thanksgiving ~ 11/22. It didn't effect my cycle at all. I got in everywhere my numbers said I would.

Ur acting like its Februrary...late November isnt really considered that late in the cycle, ur fine. With apps going to be down again, applying late doesnt hurt as much as it used to anyways.

Way too early to panic.
This is not a reason to wait for next year's cycle.

Before Halloween = Early
Before Thanksgiving = On Time
After Christmas = Typically a bad decision, but with this cycle, who knows?
You're fine.
ETA: Feel free to PM with your PS if you need eyes to proofread it. Make sure the rush doesn't negatively impact your application. Good luck!

FYI - it's possible to pay a bunch of money to recover what is on your hard-drive, if you really want to. Unless you really fried it in burning oil. Even then maybe.

End of November isn't late so you're fine! Also, # of LSAT takers is still decreasing so late apps shouldn't hurt as much this year, if at all. Schools may be rushing to hit their medians once feb/mar comes around.

You're fine. I applied in early December and got into several good schools.

Lol. Crappy poll. It is still relatively early. Include some other option--i.e. December or January are fine if you have the LSAT/GPA numbers to back your apps up.

You can do this! Plus, even if you had submitted them right now, it might not have been looked at until Thanksgiving was over anyway. It's NOT too late, just get your apps in before the December LSAT retakers have their files go complete in late Dec/early Jan.

Anything before Thanksgiving is still decently early. Also dropbox that shit next time.

Do you think this adage still applies now, given the precipitous drop in applications and that more than half of students were admitted off the waitlist and accepting applications into as late as July at many schools last year?

Work your ass off and rewrite everything before Thanksgiving. Put everything in the cloud and watch your acceptances roll in.

Definitely re-write everything and apply ASAP. Before Thanksgiving is considered early so a couple days late is not a big deal. Just take a deep breath and get 'er done!

are you sure that nothing on the hard drive can be retrieved?
even if the data is all gone, i don't see how it could hurt for you to apply this cycle (with the caveat that the quality of your essays not drop on a rewrite). Even if things don't pan out this cycle, there's no negative to reapplying to schools if you get to that point.

I think it's definitely more lax this year (perhaps even shifted with Halloween = super early, Thanksgiving = early, Christmas = on-time, Post Feb LSAT = rough).cahwc12 wrote:dproduct wrote:Before Halloween = Early
