Using a LOR from a lecturer/ta

Post by julius305 » Fri Nov 09, 2012 2:02 pm

Is it acceptable to send in a LOR from a lecturer to T-14 schools? I go to a large state university where many of my courses had lecturers teaching, especially the smaller classes and labs.

Yes, it's acceptable. Obviously, the same criteria as a professor apply--hopefully the lecturer know you and your work fairly well, etc.

I was in a similar situation. I had my instructor/supervisor from a practicum write a letter for me. It wasn't exactly the typical TA/ lab instructor setup, but I definitely feel I was better off having him write it as opposed to a prof I saw at office hours a few times.
