Waste of money?

Post by francesfarmer » Wed Nov 07, 2012 3:17 pm

Should I shoot at app to Chicago and/or Columbia at this point? Is it too late for me to be competitive? I'm 3.4/172 and seeing their medians somewhere just now has given me the jitters. (I went to Columbia undergrad and my professional recommender went to CLS, if its relevant.)

Yeah, I am definitely anticipating being WL-ed or rejected outright.

Last cycle had the lowest number of applicants since 1996, and tons of new law schools have opened since then. Nearly everyone's medians and/or class sizes dropped. This year is widely predicted to be even more down. The game could be changing and we may be in for some surprises this cycle. Throw out the apps, it's worth the money.

Odds with those numbers at CLS and Chi have never been great, but always worth the app fee. And things are only getting easier. Definitely apply.
