Quoted for posterity. Oh dear god, what did you write on your answer sheet?Lear22 wrote:I am wondering if my exam's answer sheet (i.e the complete scan of the sheet with with a answers to all questions, from my name to my answer to Q14 section 2) can be disclosed to the schools if they ask LSAC for it? An LSAC rep told me no a few weeks ago but I am not sure if she really knew what she was saying, plus I find TLS more credited than the average LSAC phone person.
Thanks !

Re: LSAT answer sheet disclosed?
Ha. Nothing special actually. It's just another one of the random thoughts I have in my head while waiting for my score. The fact that I am on my second 24 marathon (season 6 eps4) doesn't help reduce my thoughts of possible LSAC conspiracies. (For example one that involves them not releasing the score in order to get more $ in late registration fees)Davidbentley wrote:Quoted for posterity. Love to see some classy people on TLS. Good response. Also, I'm just curious... if law schools could see your answer sheet, do you think that would have an effect on whether or not you're accepted?Lear22 wrote:WhiskeynCoke wrote:Unless you covered it in penis doodles, why the hell do you care? I am wondering two things here:
1. If it can be legally disclosed to the law schools if they ask for it or is it a part that is only visible to LSAC and the test taker.
2. Wondering if schools may ask to see it to look at how the applicant did in different part of exam and evaluate something according to it. Kind of like bschools look how you did in different sections of the gmat.
But I am more interested to see if its even an option that the law schools have if they desire to see it or LSAC does not give them this option.
This is a huge stretch, I know, and as I said its all part of my score anticipation combined with a 24 marathon and watching last night's homeland.

Yah. Things like that. And also just wondering if legally the schools can get the scan or notrebexness wrote:Are you asking if they care, for example, if you get Perfect RC and LR, but fail LG hard? The breakdown of your score?

Perhaps would have been efficient to say that in the beginning.Lear22 wrote:Yah. Things like that. Schools do not care which sections you did marginally better on however

Understood. I am just asking from the pure legal and disclosure agreement perspective. Regardless if they care or not: are they legally permitted to view it, if asked.

Re: LSAT answer sheet disclosed?
As it's currently worded, this isn't your original question, which is probably why it seemed like a dumb question to me. The answer sheet you bubbled in does not indicate which type of questions each section contains. Are you asking if they care, for example, if you get Perfect RC and LR, but fail LG hard? The breakdown of your score?
Yah. Things like that. And also just wondering if legally the schools can get the scan or not
Looking at someones bubbled-in answer sheet would not reveal if section 1 was LR, LG, RC, or experimental. For example, if it did, testers would be aware of what questions section 4 and 5 contain during the break (without peeking), and be able to better mentally prepare.
However, the item response report does indicate these things, but it is not a scan of your writing, which you specifically referred to.
In regards to your amended question (which is a much better question), schools don't care which section you aced and which ones you bombed. They only care about the 3 digit number used in the calculation of their medians and thereby US News rank.(i.e the complete scan of the sheet with with a answers to all questions, from my name to my answer to Q14 section 2)
Sorry for calling your thread dumb. It was certainly hyperbole to suggest it was anywhere close to the dumbest on TLS. However, you worded your original question very poorly, thus the off-topic and unhelpful responses.

Unfortunately I still don't know if school can legally obtain the scan of the answer sheet to its entirety (i.e. my name as I bubbled it, my social as bubbled, answers etc. meaning the entire orange colored sheet as a scam) as I do when I go to my LSAC account. I guess I'd have to wait until the good people at LSAC will get back to their offices..

Re: LSAT answer sheet disclosed?
Ok.... you now seem to have reverted back to your original question so I'll try to be nice. What is it that you are worried about? That a school won't appreciate the technique you use to bubble in answers (Harvard finds counter-clockwise circular motions when bubbling COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!)?? Did you spell your name wrong? What could possibly be on your scantron sheet that you don't want schools to see? What's the point of even thinking about this?Unfortunately I still don't know if school can legally obtain the scan of the answer sheet to its entirety (i.e. my name as I bubbled it, my social as bubbled, answers etc. meaning the entire orange colored sheet as a scam)
Please articulate WHY YOU CARE or we will continue to be flabbergasted.
/secondedThis may not be the dumbest thread ever on TLS, but it sure is one of the most batshit crazy-ass tinfoil hat paranoid.

Re: LSAT answer sheet disclosed?
Thanks. I was never panning in asking them that at any given point. Ida's just curious about something while having a lot of time on my hand as I wait for my score. It is what it is. Nothing more or less. Sheer wonder.Br3v wrote:OP, if for some reason you feel it necessary to ask adcoms to look at your scantron I think they would for the sole reason of curiosity. I would imagine they could access if they wanted (your question), but I think unless there is some drastic situation none of us can imagine that describes your situation, I would not suggest you waste their time by telling them to pull up your answer sheet for examination.

Re: LSAT answer sheet disclosed?
Second, its not hard to come up with a feasible reason why he would want to do this.
for example:
OP has 2 lsat scores with a difference of 8 points
OP did not adequately study for first lsat, studied hard, got a better score the second time around
OP wants to claim in an addendum that instead of insufficient study, he skipped from position 17 to position 19 on his scantron between the 3rd and 4th games, so the entire 4th game while done correctly will register as incorrect on the scantron.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
