Why X essay length

How long should a why X school essay typically be? Since it would be an addition to my ps, I am assuming that being concise is key. 250 words or should I elaborate as much as possible on my reasons for wanting to attend a particular school? Thanks.

Try and keep it to about a page, double-spaced.
