Re: Advice on GPA Addendum
Of the two, the changing major is a stronger argument. However, don't say that if you switched from a hard major to an easy one - that would just tell me what I expect, that it's harder to earn As in Multivariable Calculus than it is in Pop Psychology 101.

Re: Advice on GPA Addendum
What do you have to gain through an addendum? Your upward grade trend speaks for itself and, as you already said, you don't have solid/atypical reasons for the slow start, such as illness or financial/family obligations. The previous post highlights this. I wouldn't waste time on an addendum that would more likely hurt you than help you. FWIW I didn't write a GPA addendum and I'm (3.47/179) with a strong upward trend. I didn't think highlighting the fact that I was lazy and misguided my freshman year helped my case.
Yale won't be like: "A 3.37? No way! Oh wait.... he switched majors it's cool."
