Current LOR Processing Time

Post by Balthy » Tue Oct 16, 2012 2:47 pm

A recommender sent in an LOR for me about a month and a half ago with the appropriate form attached. About 3 weeks later, I told him it still hadn't shown up on my profile and he decided to send it in again. So now it's been quite a while again, it still hasn't shown up on my profile (status: requested), and I feel that asking to send it in yet again may annoy him. I'm just wondering whether this is my bad luck, or the normal delay around this time; should I wait longer or just ask him to fax it in?

Thanks

I hear that emailing is relatively instant. Anecedotally people have said it is uploaded in 1-2 days at max via email. LSAC recommends not faxing bc it can blur the numbers increasing time.

There's also the fact that most Oct takers are rushing to get their LoR's in so the processing is increased.

Sorry about spelling on phone.

Can a recommender actually e-mail it or do you mean uploading it onto the website?

E-mailing would be great, as I imagine he wouldn't have to register as a user on LSAC.

Uh i think they have to register by what I mean as "email". Is there a reason he can't register a profile with LSAC ?

No, no reason. I just wanted to find the most convenient way, as this would be his THIRD time sending it in. Thanks a lot!

Right - I think that doing it online by creating an account is the most convenient way for the person bc they just have to register an account with lsac through a link they send them. Then either paste the LoR in a box or upload it (idk how it works on their end) and it's done.
