Graduating in December
I am scheduled to graduate in December, and in order to boost my GPA I intended on waiting until after my final grades were posted to apply to law schools for the Fall 2013 semester. After lurking here it seems as though this is decidedly late in terms of application submission? Does anyone have any advice on this issue?
Thanks!
Thanks!

My opinion is to apply now, the schools will eventually see your updated GPA anyways and your LSAT is more significant besides. How many points do you think it'll go up by Dec. anyways? I'm graduating in Dec. as well and applied recently. I expect my GPA to rise a few decimal places by Dec. as well but the jump won't be anything special.

Re: Graduating in December
I am a splitter, my LSAT will be 165-170 and my GPA will be cumulative 2.6. It's partly to bump my GPA could increase by .1-.15 and also to showcase my positive grade trend. I had a shitty year after being displaced from my home during Sophmore year and have had to recover from that. So my final semester of grades will add to my addendum I believe.
Just trying to get everything as good as I can. However I suppose .15 is going to make a whole lot of difference with a sub 3.0

I agree with bdm261. The increase isn't materially huge and it seems like getting apps in now would be more helpful than a slight gpa increase. The Anna Ivey book seems to suggest that towards the middle/end of the cycle, admin ppl have less time to read your app so numbers may mean more where as in the beginning of the cycle, admin ppl have more time to spend on an app and get to know you more holistically.

I'm in a very similar position, and have decided to wait until final grades post in December and to submit applications as soon as they do. Would be open to any advice from those more knowledgeable of the admission process.
