Seems like Penn has a joint program with HKU where you finish a JD/LLM in three years. I have an interest in going to Hong Kong to work at some point and I also have legal residency over there; however, while I do want to spend some time over in HK, I eventually want to settle down back in California.
Are there any negatives to not spending your 3L at your home law school?

If you're looking to work in the US, this is probably not the best program. You should be using your breaks to network and do internships that will hopefully lead to full time employment after law school.
