Any point applying ED to NU if they definitely wont take me?

NU is my first choice, but with 3.7/170 I know I won't get the full ride through ED. Should I apply ED anyway? Will it help me get in through RD? Will I get a faster decision? I can't think of anywhere else I would ED, unless NU rejects me, in which case I'd consider Penn ED if I can make it in time for the second round.

It seemed like people did better with the ED>defer than straight RD. They also got in before us for the most part

I wouldn't say that you know that; just that you think that. If you'd be happy going there, apply ED.
