I was also denied a merit waiver from BU. I requested it on 8/21 and they responded on 9/4 saying they wouldn't give me one.shadowofjazz wrote:I applied for the merit on August 18, got a response on Sept 4 saying they don't do merit, but I could submit a need-based. Seriously. All of these schools have some unique timing or strategy to figure out. Ain't nobody got time for that.shadowofjazz wrote:IT'S BECAUSE WE ASKED TOO EARLY!!!!02889 wrote:I was also denied a merit waiver from BU. pretty hilarious video... that must have been it that you guys applied too early. I sent mine september 2nd, so perhaps she wasn't lying to you when she said they didn't offer them (then).
If not that's a bit.... disconcerting.
edit: IUB merit solicited 9/5 granted 9/7

Hmm my last recommendation is going to come in some time in the next week. I was just going to apply to all my schools then (I have waivers to most of them anyways) but maybe if I wait another couple weeks the waivers will come out? I don't want to decide to wait and then end up submitting in a month and a half though.trojandave wrote:I think last year they were mid to late Septembertaf889 wrote:Man when are Penn/NYU/Columbia coming out? Looked back to last year's thread and saw the 13th for Columbia. I think end of next week would be a good bet.trojandave wrote:I think last year they were mid to late Septembertaf889 wrote:Man when are Penn/NYU/Columbia coming out? Any thoughts?

Re: Law School AppReqs & Fee Waiver Tracker 2012-2013
BC merit fee waiver "denied," going to try again mid-late september as per this email:
The correction to the apps is likely 9/24 as well.
On your sheet you have BC apps open 9/24, and also BC accepting solicited starting september.Dear XXXXX,
Thank you for your email. I am sorry but it is too early for us to process a fee waiver in the system. It would be best if you check back with us in mid to late September when the application becomes available.
Best,
Boston College Law School

Just got UVA, unsolicited.
I would be thrilled if UVA wasn't one of the only two schools I managed to get a solicited waiver from weeks ago.

Yes! If only we could combine these fee waivers and get money back. There should be something about this process that's enjoyable.guinness1547 wrote:Lol same. They should pay us to apply!02889 wrote:Just got UVA, unsolicited.

Lol me too. I guess now I don't even have to put in the code to get the waiver so it's even better!

I'm annoyed that Penn, NYU, Columbia don't do solicited (and don't give them out for a while). Like do one or the other. It's not like just because they offer solicited they would have to give them to a lot of people. I don't get if you email them and say you have certain high numbers and have them deny you, then email you one four days later after you applied.

Okay I'm going to keep treating this like a 2012-13 cycle megathread:
Has anybody tried using the status checker app for this year's cycle yet? I can't get it to log into anything; I suspect it might be because even if I try to manually log in I have to enter a captcha which obviously would foil any automatic attempts. Is this old news that I just missed or what?

Shadow, I can't help but noticed on LSN you ED'd to UVA the day apps opened (9/1). May I ask what your master plan is? Are you systematically planning to ED as many T14 as possible?
(FWIW I think you'll get into UVA and have a short cycle... just please don't stop updating the spreadsheet

No, UVA is my first choice. If they reject/waitlist me I'll just apply normally to some other schools. My master plan is to go to UVA, hopefully from being accepted this month.cahwc12 wrote:Shadow, I can't help but noticed on LSN you ED'd to UVA the day apps opened (9/1). If I do end my cycle early, I will still be updating the spreadsheet - no worries (though it rarely needs updates now).
I'm removing T3/4 schools from the tracker. Doesn't quite make sense since most people here are applying to T1/2 schools almost exclusively.

UVA didn't work for me on the app but I can't speak to the other schools.bernaldiaz wrote:Jesus your avatar is annoying.Crowing wrote:Okay I'm going to keep treating this like a 2012-13 cycle megathread:
