Fairleigh Dickinson University
... is considered by many to be a joke of a school. My numbers are good enough for T25 (167/3.92) but will this UG - considered akin to U. of Phoenix - screw my admission chances?

Probably not, schools just care about #s and they'll gladly take that GPA

No, it wont keep you out. LSAC GPA >>>>> UG prestige.

UG school won't matter. Anecdotally though, kids from HYP get a slight boost. But a no-name UG won't hurt. Congrats on your GPA. Btw, I would retake -- you're looking at HYS if you score 172+.

Thanks peeps. Yeah I'm probably going to retake. I have a really good PS -I was raised in a fanatical religious family and broke away in order to go to college and become secular. (Subsequently I was excommunicated). I'm hoping my interesting story will appeal to T14.

Your undergraduate school won't adversely affect your chances of admission to elite law schools.
P.S. Intersting essay possibilities.

Edit: OP, I graduated from FDU as well and also took some classes at University of Phoenix, didn't seem to have much of an effect.

No. Legal employers will primarily look at your law school and rank.Huluba wrote:Is this true?tedalbany wrote:Though, legal hiring will be a different story

No. Employers primarily care about law school and rank, but do you really think they want their client seeing some phoenix on their attorneys page? They ask and care about that. It isn't critical, but they care.dpk711 wrote:No. Legal employers will primarily look at your law school and rank.Huluba wrote:Is this true?tedalbany wrote:Though, legal hiring will be a different story
