Pass/fail on transcript?

Post by brando9 » Thu Jun 21, 2012 11:11 am

So I went to a liberal arts school where they offered a pass/fail option instead of a grade (yes, it's exactly like elementary school). Anyway, I took a handful of classes pass fail, and passed. I probably got Bs but didn't want them to hurt my GPA. So, my question to any and all...should I consider writing an addendum explaining why I took some classes pass/fail because they are obviously going to be visible on my transcript.

Thanks!

No, there's no reason to do this.

Plenty of people take pass/fail classes, some from liberal arts schools, some from small private universities, and some from large state schools. No one cares.

I didn't, and I did a P/F most semesters for the same reasons you did. It didn't influence my cycle. I got in to a couple of reaches and rejected at most of my safeties, FWIW.
