I will be applying to law school this coming year. Two of my top choices are NYU and Columbia. I do have some desire to work in Public Interest, so I was thinking about applying for each school's respective scholarships in those areas.
My question is: Will applying to those scholarships affect the automatic scholarship money I may have received from the schools? I am above or at the 75th percentile LSAT and GPAs at both schools, and therefore expect to receive some money. Will applying for separate scholarships affect that? I know many scholarships require you to go into a certain field for a period of time, and I am not 100% sure about committing to that yet.
Thanks!

Re: Scholarships: Applying vs. Automatic
It will definitely not affect you for NYU. I got what my scores expected me to get.
I didn't know Columbia had scholarships you can apply to, but either way I doubt it would hurt your scholarship.
