FBI background check

Post by teawhy? » Thu May 31, 2012 1:55 am

Long time lurker here at tls... Anyway, My cycle is approaching and I have a question: I had an FBI background check performed and it only pulled 2 of 6 infractions/arrests; so should I only disclose those two on the C&F portion of apps?

No ... A good move to prove you're now an upstanding citizen would be to honestly disclose your prior history in full as required.

Disclose all: if they catch one you didn't disclose, they'll ding you right away.
Having past problems is one thing, lying about them is another

Ya... I just don't want to be dinged for stupid situations I put myself in at young ages.

7th grade: shot cars with a paintball gun.
Soph yr. HS: Ran from cops on foot. No real reason.
Right out of HS: DUI/interfering with officer - dropped
Year later: minor in consumption
2 years later: 2 public intoxes - on my 21st and then my GF's 21st.

The last came in 08. Not even a parking ticket since. I know I was dumb. I just hope ADCOMS don't look at it like it's an established behavioral problem.

The only two that show on the FBI report are the DUI/interfering and minor in consumption.

I wasn't looking for a green light to lie either. I just don't know the proper way forward from having things that happened that apparently aren't on my record anymore.

When in doubt, disclose. They probably know C&F issues more than you do, just let them decide if it'll be an issue in their state. Better find out and be barred now than sneak by early and spend all that time and money on LS for nothing.

Would it be helpful in an addendum to state that I cleared the issues with the bar/is that possible?
