Error on transcript from 2001

Post by TyrionLannister » Fri May 25, 2012 1:37 pm

I'm a non-trad 0L who graduated undergrad in '01.

Never had the need to examine my UG transcripts before now, and I have noticed an error from Fall quarter of '99. I was listed as having an F in a 2 credit class. It was a long time ago, but I have never received an F before in my life and instantly knew something was wrong. I went to the school office and they said that as soon as graduation occurs, grades lock up. Two staff members I talked to implied that it was an error, but insisted that nothing could be done. Has anyone encountered this situation before? The difference would mean a 3.47 GPA vs. a 3.51 GPA. Not devastating, but crossing that 3.5 threshold would significantly improve my application. Am I worrying for nothing? I'll probably just have to accept it, but I hate having an F on my record that is simply an error. Any thoughts out there in TLSland on what can be done?

Keep fighting it. Did you even actually take that class? If so, find the prof (who likely wont remember you) and get them on your side. Also, you need to go higher up in the chain than the staff you spoke to. They wont want to deal with you, but if you're annoying enough, they may.
