ITT you summarize your PS in one sentence

Post by bernaldiaz » Thu May 24, 2012 10:17 am

Or maybe two. I'm really interested to see the general topics of most people's PSs as I begin to shape mine.

Mistaken for a millionaire, I sought restitution for my ruined rug and enlisted my bowling buddies to help get it.

It is illegal to set a dogfighter's house on fire, so I am going to shake him up in the courtroom.

I'm good at putting up with bullshit, and thus would be a good law school student.

Here's my life story, why I made my previous life-choices, and how it led me to the law.

(Note: I'm a few years older; apparently older candidates are best to explain why they want a JD)

My PS was about who I am and why I want to be an attorney. Pretty vanilla.

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

I am the first and only in a family of 7 kids to go to college, and I did so on a military scholarship. Did 7 years as a Marine Officer with deployments to the Middle East, where I witnessed first hand how oppressive a society without rule of law can be. These facts coupled with the leadership experience I have had will make me a fine and interesting addition to your incoming class next fall... Stanford.

ok so thats a little longer than one sentence, and Stanford can barely be categorized as a long shot... but im REACHING!

A shitty PS that talked about probably the most monumental part of my life thus far that I somehow tried to stretch into why I want to be a lawyer (poorly).

I consider myself an above average writer, but my PS was awful
