Graduating in More than 4 Years

Post by gambit123 » Sun May 20, 2012 8:24 pm

GPA: 4.0
Projected LSAT: 170s
Not URM

The problem is that I took 5.5 years to graduate. I double majored, unofficially designed my own minor, and studied abroad three times. At the time I didn't think anything of it, but now I'm fairly worried. I have an immediate family member at H, who is telling me my chances of going there would be good if I got a 170s LSAT, but although he had a 4.0 from the same school in the same major as me, he graduated in 4 years.

How much is taking 5+ years to get a BA going to hurt me?

Do any of you know anyone at a T14 school who took 5 or more years to graduate?

I know someone at a T14 that took almost 6 years to graduate. You'll be fine.

I doubt it will hurt you at all. Law school admissions are about numbers. Your [projected] numbers are great.

You fucking kidding me. Love the subtle bragging.

Why the fuck would a law school (the system) who let's in journalism majors with 3.8 over an engineer with a 3.0 give a flying fuck about how long it took you to graduate if you have a 4.0.

I would not have asked this if I were not actually concerned about it. I have no desire to brag anonymously on the internet.

Yeah don't really see how one could accuse OP of taking longer to graduate with a Bachelors
