Tulane vs Loyola Chicago

Post by matei566 » Wed Apr 11, 2012 12:34 pm

I am accepted at both Loyola Chicago and Tulane and having trouble making a choice. Tulane is a bit more expensive and I am considering that. I could see myself staying in Chicago, but I realize Tulane is a better ranked school. Does anyone have any suggestions that might she some light on my situation?

Where do you want to practice?

In before the "ties" arguments start.

Ludovico Technique's question is relevant... and I'm glad he/she (?) asked that before asking about ties, because it matters more.

Consider where you would want to live/practice.

I cannot comment on the portability of each school... however if you would like to live in Chicago then Loyola is probably your best bet.

chicago would likely be around 110k and tulane closer to 130k. I do have other options that are much less as far as total cost and debt when I finish.

i feel like i should clarify, those numbers were not just the tuition. Chicago would be about 90k, tulane 114k. My other option is Saint Louis University at 45k. Also depaul university at about 60k.

well i feel like Tulane would get you in at more places. Like it would open up many markets in the south. However, LUC would pretty much confine you to the dregs of chicago jobs.

Not worth it. Retake and reapply.

Do you have someone covering cost of living expenses? It is going to be more than 20k for 3 years of living in chicago...
