What was your reaction to the First Acceptance Letter?

Post by lovejopd » Tue Mar 13, 2012 5:24 pm

Which school was it? Did you scream and jump up and down with excitement? Similar to this?~

I hope that some people from law school drop by my house to congratulate me on my acceptance, and I don't go to that school~

Anyway, hope everyone's cycle is going well~

Accepted to my safety, so I didn't feel too much enthusiasm. Still felt nice though

What? No. That was my reaction. Well, that and checking to make sure it was sent to the right person...I was a good amount below their stats for GPA, haha.

My car had broken down in the middle of my street (transmission was shot) and was locked into drive so I couldn't move it. I got my first acceptance while I was sitting on the hood directing traffic around my car and waiting for the tow-truck. The mailman stops by, gives me my mail, then comes back two hours later and says "You're still here? damn. Anyway, I found this" and gives me a package from William and Mary. There were tears.

William and Mary. It felt good to know my application didn't completely suck!

Dean called and woke me up on a Wednesday around noon. I just wanted to sleep longer.

Washington and Lee.

Due to their awesome admission they let me know the exact day it would come out about a week before, then almost the exact time a couple of days before. So no shock, but I was pretty happy... it wasn't my first choice but I had this fear that I'd somehow insanely under perorm my numbers / just get a ton of rejections.

U. Houston was the first school I got into and where I'm going now. I was pretty thrilled but more relieved than "I won the lottery!" thrilled. It lasted a solid few months. Gosh the acceptance/rejection waiting period is the best.

My first acceptance was my safety. I wasn't surprised to see that I got in, but I was surprised by the timing...they're known for not releasing decisions until later in the cycle and I had my decision in November. Aaaand, when I read the rest of the package, and saw that I got a decent scholarship...there were tears of joy, ngl. I hadn't expected any scholly, so I was very pleasantly surprised.

Crime spree. For a while, I was worried it might become a C+F issue down the line, but the judge threw out my case once I told him I was an HYS admit. I was so relieved that I killed two hobos on my way home.

NYU called me while I was at work in the early afternoon. It felt really fucking good to be T6 secure before hearing from anywhere else.

Georgetown, and then I got nervous because it was the last school I applied to and I hadn't heard back from any others

UCLA. Excited at first because I was expecting a waitlist, then neurosis took over and I worried my app sucked and they knew I'd attend if accepted.
