Do I have time to retake a class?? Forum

I was accepted to my first choice with a big scholarship, and now I'm sort of panicking about losing the scholarship...there is a small chance I might have to retake one of my classes...can I do this over the summer before law school starts and still send them my transcript in time? Will they take my scholarship away if I get all 'A's and one D?

First off, LSAC counts all grades, whether they are retaken or not. If you retake a D and get an A, LSAC will still calculate both grades into your GPA. I don't really understand why you think you're going to lose your scholarship, are you still taking undergrad classes and think you're not going to do well? I really don't think they'll take away your scholarship for bad grades in undergrad after you've already been accepted...

Is it too late to switch the class to pass/fail? Either way its not really a big deal. Once you're accepted they're not gonna take anything away for one bad grade. Don't waste time retaking it.

I wouldn't retake to get a higher gpa...but because it's required to pass it in order to graduate, i.e. i don't pass i HAVE to take a summer class. I know a law school wouldn't be like "Well geez she got a C..." but if I had to retake the class, I wouldn't be able to send them my final transcript until much later.

As long as you graduate before the date that classes are scheduled to start, you should be fine.
