How does one get a loan if he or she is admitted from the waitlist, say, a day or two before classes begin?

I think - but obviously don't know since I'm a 0L - that you just go ahead and put that school on your FAFSA, even if you're "up in the air." I put schools on my FAFSA where I was still "complete," and when they finally admitted me, they told me that they were glad that I was already up to date for the financial aid.

Most schools will do a finaid package for waitlisters, if you have submitted all of the required info to them. If you get admitted they just release the money. It may take a week or two for you to get any balance due to you though.
