Re: At what point does work experience become more than a soft?
The point at which you submit an application to Northwestern.
Aside from that, I don't really think work ever becomes more than a soft. Maybe if you were literally the world's leading expert in some field that you wanted to translate to law.

IDK being a best-selling author seems to do the trick. There are probably a few other gigs along those lines that might. But like, becoming middle management isn't going to do it. Being a real person with a real job isn't going to cause schools to jizz themselves.ph14 wrote:Never.soccer88 wrote:For how many years, or in what capacity, does one need to work for their work experience to become more than a soft factor or tie-breaker in admissions decisions. That's more of the important thing here. You can work for 15 years at McDonald's as a sandwich technician, and it won't matter.soccer88 wrote:or in what capacity
You can work 1 month as a novelist (bang it out during the November novel challenge and get it published) and it will matter.
