Dean's Statement - Stanford Forum

I applied to Stanford early January and recently got an online status checker ID/password from Stanford. According to the site, they're waiting on the statement of the undergraduate dean, but I submitted that form to my dean's office mid-December.

Anyone else experience problems with this? If the form arrived promptly after I submitted it, it might have preceded the submission of my actual application - could this be the problem? Does the form simply take a long time to process?

Mildly sickening to think my review is going to be even later....

Maybe your dean didn't submit it. Check with your undergrad.

This is my situation as well. My dean "says" he submitted it the second week of December, but Stanford appears to not have it. I'm going to have my dean do another, then I'm going to fax and re-send mine.

If I remember correctly, the Dean's statement was one of the longest waits I had last year. I went to a very small school, so I ran into my dean the day after he sent it in, and it took several weeks after that for Stanford to mark it as received (or complete or whatever the status is).

Call Stanford's admissions office and ask. I had the same problem; they had received it, but not updated my status checker. After I called it was added within an hour.

Sorry to piggy-back on this topic but:

Does the Dean Statement need to be received by the Feb 1st deadline or is postmark okay? Or will it just cause your app to go incomplete until it finally arrives?
