Took a college class in high school...
Just realized that I didn't discuss anywhere on my application why I have 8 credits from 2007-2008 from a different college. The reason is that at my high school, honors English senior year was a college course rather than AP. Will admissions mistakenly assume I transferred from that college or something?
I also took a class after my sophomore year of college at a local community college. So, in summary, there are three different colleges that I list as having attended but only one where I received a degree. Will they be able to gather that I took a class during high school and a class to get credits during the summer?
...I knew I rushed through the apps too fast

Please tell me you sent in your transcripts for all of those to LSAC.

I wouldn't worry too much. I did dual enrollment in high school, summer school at my home university, and go to school in another state. Haven't had any questions arise. They can see how many credits you've taken at each one, and which one you're actually getting a degree from.

Did you submit transcripts from all the institutions? If so, you should be fine. I have 12 community college credits from a high school class. On my LSAC academic summary, they show up as being taken in 1996, before I graduated from high school. I don't think it requires an explanation. They don't care whether you got high school credit or transferred or what, only how it all averages into your overall GPA.
If you didn't send in a transcript, that could be a serious problem. If not now, later when you're trying to pass the bar.

Yes, they'll understand that. I have transcripts from 4 schools. However, as the poster above noted you do have to send transcripts from all schools, which hopefully you did.alexandra23 wrote:Just realized that I didn't discuss anywhere on my application why I have 8 credits from 2007-2008 from a different college. Yes, I sent all the transcripts to LSAC. On my Academic Summary Report it clearly shows that I have 8 credits from the college I had a class through my senior year and 3 credits from the community college. The thing is they don't necessarily realize I graduated high school in 2008, so they may just think I graduated in '07 then spent a year taking 8 credits at the first college before transferring.
Ugh. Debating e-mailing to explain this, but don't know if it's necessary.

They'll figure it out. You're good. Don't email.alexandra23 wrote:Yes, I sent all the transcripts to LSAC. I think you're being paranoid. As you can see from at least two people in this thread in the last 10 minutes, TONS of people had college credit from high school. It's a non-issue. You may have REAL things to email admissions offices about later; no need to bother them with this.alexandra23 wrote:Yes, I sent all the transcripts to LSAC. Haha yeah I probably am being paranoid. I just had a feeling I was rushing when filling out some of the apps, so I'm worried now. Plus my pre-law adviser told me to indicate on my resume where those extra credits were from, but I don't really trust that she knows what she's talking about so I just didn't.
I know it's common to take a college class in high school, but I don't know if it's obvious on my apps that I was in high school when taking those credits. Hopefully you guys are right.

I have yet to hear of a pre-law advisor who knows what they're talking about.alexandra23 wrote:Haha yeah I probably am being paranoid. Why does it MATTER when you were taking those credits? Why do you think adcomms would CARE? About 95% of their decision is based on LSAT and overall GPA. Then URM status. Then they consider things like your PS, your work experience, internships, letters of rec. "What year those college credits are from" is so far down the list that it's probably below your astrological sign in terms of relevance.
Don't bug the adcomms with this. You don't want to be THAT girl who emails them every 2 days about something new.

Yeah, I would disagree with your pre-law advisor. I can't imagine them not assuming you were in high school. I only listed my degree granting institution on my resume. Furthermore, unless you're trying to get into HYS, or maybe a good school with a bad gpa, no one is going to care where you got your credits from unless it's a clown college. you'll be fine. i had the same concern about rushing through my apps and it's been fine thus far.alexandra23 wrote:Haha yeah I probably am being paranoid. OK, thanks guys. My thought was that saying I took a college class in high school would make me look smarter or something, thus making me a more attractive applicant. But I definitely don't want to bug the admissions people with stupid emails so I'll just forget about it I guess.
