Post by swtlilsoni » Tue Jan 17, 2012 2:28 am

I started a website last year..and want to include this on my resume because it IS a job. I do manage it and there is cashflow. Im no sure how to list a start up on a resume ]though...for employer would i put myself? Or the name of the business? And for my title what do i put...founder Manager? Ceo? Also what would i put for the bulleted description? A description of what i do or what the company does?

do you have a title for tax purposes? Are you incorporated? Otherwise, put the name of the company, founder, and what you do

I included it in my resume under business projects. I noted that it was freelance since I never got paid because it isn't up and running yet (started a website with my BF) but I wrote all the terms & conditions, website info, FAQ, and helped with everything. He gave me the title CFO and VP but since it's not incorporated yet I decided to just list the name of the company and what I did.

Hey so did that go under work experience, or a totally different section? And when you wrote what you did, what did you say? You specifically said - wrote terms and conditions, helped with development? Like how would you say that

I have a separate section for work experience and a separate section for business projects I did. I included this in the business projects section. The other projects listed in this section were from my business classes and we dealt with actual companies so it was easy to incorporate.

For my other business projects I had worked on other websites, business plans, etc. So I just listed them all out and underneath each project I used bullet points to describe what I did. It emulates the work experience section since I used bullet points for my duties for that as well. I specifically said drafted terms and conditions, met with investors for funding, etc.
