GPA Discrepancy
I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question.
I've noticed that, in certain cases, a person's LSDAS cumulative GPA is almost identical to their undergrad cumulative GPA, whereas in other cases the two GPAs are very different. What accounts for this difference?

Community college classes or other transfer classes that don't count towards the applicant's gpa at the degree granting school but do factor into their lsac gpa (you send them transcripts from every school and they calculate it) can make it lower or higher.Excellent117 wrote:I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question.

Also if your UG school gives A+ letter grades but only calculates them as 4.0, you get a totally unearned bonus because LSAC counts them as 4.33, screwing over people who got 100% grades at schools where the top grade is A, not A+.
Only a little bitter.

Re: GPA Discrepancy
If someone takes the same course several times(ex) F-->C-->A) for a better grade, all course grades still count toward LSDAS GPA. In this case, GPA discrepancy happens.

Re: GPA Discrepancy
Do we have to address this in an addendum? I didn't, as I thought it would be obvious. My overall GPA is 3.3 because I got an F removed in a random community college class when I was an engineering major. But since LSAC counts it, my LSDAS is 3.12.

Do not address it in an addendum. Adcomms see this issue often enough that it's nothing out of the ordinary.

Seriously. What schools actually give out A+? Totally foreign to me.rinkrat19 wrote:Also if your UG school gives A+ letter grades but only calculates them as 4.0, you get a totally unearned bonus because LSAC counts them as 4.33, screwing over people who got 100% grades at schools where the top grade is A, not A+.
