If you ED at NU and get held, can you ED other schools?

NU's ED policy is that if you ED to their school, you can't ED elsewhere. However, if you get held (and later accepted RD), can you still ED to other schools?

I'm guessing they don't to give full scholly's to certain people with lower numbers so they change their app to RD.

According to the wording of their ED app and emails to their admissions office 2 cycles ago, no.

I would call them though. It's a very weird policy and it is worded similarly to other ED apps (e.g. NYU) who said that it wasn't a problem when I called them.

Once you get held you are released from the agreement. When they say "after" they mean after you apply at NU and before your decision. So you don't apply ED to NU Oct 1, and Michigan on Oct 2.
