Crazy Amount of Fee Waivers - What should I do?
I don't have the best numbers (3.91/166) so I am not sure if they are just trying to boost their numbers.
I've gotten waivers from:
Northwestern
Duke
Virginia
Michigan
Penn
UCLA
USC
Notre Dame
Illinois
WUSTL
and others that I don't think are noteworthy.
The problem is that I only want to go to schools in the Northeast, so I'm not sure if I should even waste my time (or the $16) by applying to schools I would never go to.
But I do want as many big scholarship offers as possible, for leverage possibilities.
Advice?

So I should just spray those mothers with reckless abandon?
Where do I stop? Only T20 schools? Only T30 schools?

Quit posting this same thing in everyone's threads. It's neither funny nor helpful.justonemoregame wrote:Starbucks will cost $160 when you make partner. Blanket --

I'd probablly do all of the waivers for the T30 - is that like 20 schools or so? It will be a few hundred bucks, but if you can get off some waitlists, get offers for the awesome gpa/respectable LSAT combo, it could turn into a few thousand or more at your target.

You have all the fee waives, might as well apply now so you don't ask yourself "what if" later.
It is kind of late to apply, but just hope for the best.

Yeah, this is why I only have 5 applications in - at the moment; and I'd only want to go to 2 of those 5.Grizz wrote:Apply to schools you want to go to.

My parents actually gave me a $300 check and asked me to apply to Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. I haven't done it yet, but I feel like I could do them that favor.
Oh how us Americans connect pride and worth with validation from top educational institutions.

Re: Crazy Amount of Fee Waivers - What should I do?
I would suggest you send a fee-waiver request to any school that did not give you one automatically. It will take a couple days to a week for them to get back to you, but at this point one more week of being behind is not going to make a difference.
Make it polite, and explain why you are requesting a waiver. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
Also, Grizz is correct. I got basically all the same waivers plus some, but only applied to 6 schools I could see myself going to. The only reason to do other-wise is if you think the $16 is worth it for the chance of maybe being able to use an acceptance as leverage to get money at a school you actually want to go to.
