Already asked, but still confused - listing schools
I've seen he numerous threads regarding this question. After reading about 10 of them, I have not seen many answers in agreement with each other.
The one thing I have taken away is that everyone says not to leave the question blank. Every school so far asks this question.
I'm applying to 16 schools. Many are target, some are reach, and some are safety.
I don't want the schools to see I am applying to so many, I may list 8-10 schools.
-For the reach schools, should I put other reach and some target schools.
-For target schools, should I put other similar schools, 1 reach, and 1 safety?
-For safety schools, should I pit a mix of target and safety schools?
Thanks so much.

There's a lesson you should have taken away from that, and the lesson isn't to fucking start another thread asking this dame question.sportsstar5 wrote:I've seen he numerous threads regarding this question. After reading about 10 of them, I have not seen many answers in agreement with each other.

I wouldn't lie. Leave it blank or list all of them.

Put them all. Why would you lie on your application, especially on something like this?
You'll see people with different thoughts on it, hence the different threads and different answers. Do what you feel comfortable with, but considering you certify that everything in your application is true and valid to your current knowledge (and, depending on the wording, omission is lying), I wouldn't do it. Even in a cost-benefit analysis, it makes no sense.

Lying on law school apps. Brilliant.
Might as well stick a 180 on your LSAT score while at it. No way they could find out.

I really don't think it will ever affect you one or another but if you're really coming down to "should i list reach schools when applying to my target schools" just leave it blank.

This may be my least-favorite topic that pops up 16,432 times a cycle.
Just list schools until you're out of space. They're just curious, they aren't going to call all of them.
