In need of some advice/input on where to apply

Post by Dawak1 » Wed Jan 04, 2012 10:00 pm

I am hoping to get some advice and would really appreciate any input....

First LSAT score (June '10): 160
Second LSAT Score (Dec '11): 167

GPA: 3.63 at UF
Bachelors in Political Science
Bachelors in History
Minor in International Relations

Year off after graduation interning in Bangladesh (I am Bangladeshi American...there arent many of us but we are NOT "URM")
4 previous internships in local government, non profits, chamber of commerce
I would say I have a very solid PS, 2 good LOR's, and am writing a diversity statement.

Probably the biggest issue I am facing in regards to applications is that because of two unresolved Incomplete grades leftover from undergrad, my Apps wont be ready until the first week of Feb. This obviously eliminates quite a few schools from my list :/ but still leaves schools like Fordham. Applying next cycle is NOT an option. If anything, I would try to transfer up to T14 after my first year.

I am open to applying anywhere but strongly favor big cities (I grew up in NYC). Georgetown and Cornell are my reach schools. But Cornell has a Feb 1 app deadline which I most likely will not be able to meet. I would be ok with Fordham.

Which schools might I have a fair shot at? Given my late application (though some schools arent rolling admissions, like UCLA) and numbers.

Where would you guys apply if in my situation? Any advice is strongly appreciated.

Why can't you wait until next year?

Emory or Vanderbilt. The south is bad for law schools. So also Fordham. Otherwise, wait until next cycle and apply to BC, BU, Vandy, GW, Fordham, Emory, WSTL

Thanks alot for the input. Is there a reason in particular you did not mention USC or George Washington? The GW deadline is April 1 and I am thinking about applying there

Edit: I was thinking of applying to BU THIS cycle. I can get the app in by mid Feb. Is it too late? 167 is the median
